Protege Ventures is the first student venture fund in Southeast Asia. Leveraging Kairos ASEAN’s network in the regional startup ecosystem as well as Singapore Management University's expertise in entrepreneurial know-how, it prepares university students for real world success in venture capitalism and entrepreneurship. To be eligible for selection, students will be from any Singapore-based universities and are currently undergoing undergraduate studies and above.
Protege Ventures is for students, by students. It acts as the enabler that trains student Venture Capitalists (VC) from Singapore universities to invest in technology-enabled ASEAN startups with at least one student founder.
Students will learn from “the other side” of the startup landscape through curated, structured training and mentorship from seasoned VCs to practise venture capital knowledge and skills. Student VCs will be equipped and guided to source for student ventures, conduct due diligence, pitch to the investment committee and contribute to actual investment decisions by prestigious VCs. Innovative student ventures will receive funding from Protege Venture’s VC sponsors as well as post-investment support.
